In the Strangest Places

Steeping a cup of herbal tea, I stumbled upon a wonderful sentiment. On the box.

"...it is a wretched taste to be gratified with mediocrity when the excellent lies before us." - Isaac D'Israeli

I'm thinking that will be my motto for 2009. What will yours be?

Hmmm. The jury is out on this one. I must pick the most perfect for me and one that first jumped into my head was from Mary Poppins, "I don't explain myself to anyone."

Hey Karalea! I don't know if you remember me- my name is Tiffany Larson from your AZ Ashland Ranch ward. Anyway, I actually came looking for your blog because, long long ago, I ate one of your sugar cookies (you said it had sour cream in the recipe) that I LOVED! I mean, its been a couple years and I still think back and realize that was the yummiest sugar cookie I've ever had- ever!! SO, if you get a second, would you mind emailing me that recipe?? My email is: jamesandtiffany@gmail.com AND, BTW, your blog is so cute and fun- exactly like you. I've had fun reading through. You're amazing!

Thanks in advance!! Tiffany

I'm so tempted to make that my motto too. It's just so amazing and I've been thinking of it for 2 days.

Although I do love Marianne Williams quote about our greatest fear being our own light.

Back to the tea box. Oh the words, they are like nourishment to my soul!

It is the small, simple things of life which are the real ones after all. -Laura Ingalls Wilder

I like this one. It doesn't measure up to yours as a call for excellence, but I can admit I am searching for peace rather than perfection. It seems like being happy is the goal either way.

Of course, I can always fall back on my usual: "Feed me - I'm yours."
